Monitoring the TPC Wire Bias:

From the overview.opi tab on the Slow Controls click on the “Open Power Supply Overview Panel” button

Then you will click on Wire Bias (highlighted in green)

The wire bias panel looks as follows

The panel is read as followed

Feedthrough Number Channel Number Channel Switch (On/Off) Channel Status Target Voltage Measured Voltage Terminal Voltage Current
# 1 - 10 704 - 907 Off = 01 15 On = 01 80 Voltage set by expert Measured voltage at the MPOD Measured Voltage Current being put out by the MPOD for this channel

Things to note:

Feedthrough #1 only has the negative bias applied (there are no positively biased wires connected to feedthrough #1)

Channel 907 for feedthrough #1 is the bias applied to the field cage adjust ring (the last field cage tube installed around the wire carrier boards)

Feedthrough # 11 is not listed because no wires which have a bias voltage applied are read out on this feedthrough

WHAT TO MONITOR

Measured Current: If any channel goes into alarm, check the monitored current for that channel.

1) If a channel has gone into alarm contact the TPC expert

2) If the channel is in alarm, make a plot of the channel (by right clicking on the current value currently in alarm and clicking on "Data Browser"). Adjust the plots time scale axis (in the lower left hand side) such that you can view when the channel changed its state and post it to the elog

Sense Volt Read: If a channel goes into alarm or switches off check its current voltage by looking at this variable

1) If the channel has changed its voltage from nominal, contact the TPC expert

2) Make a plot of the channels voltage (by right clicking on the Sense Volt Read value currently in alarm or changed and clicking on "Data Browser"). Adjust the plots time scale axis (in the lower left hand side) such that you can view when the channel changed its state and post it to the elog

Switch Set: Check to make sure all the channels that should be on (all except 907 for the wire bias) are on

1) If a channel has switched off, contact the TPC expert

Monitoring the ASIC Low Voltage:

From the overview.opi tab on the Slow Controls click on the “Open Power Supply Overview Panel” button

Then you will click on ASIC LV (highlighted in blue)

The ASIC LV looks as follows:

This panel reads as follows:
Feedthrough and Channel Number Negative LV Channel Status Positive LV Channel Status
Channel 0 - 505 On (Green)/ Off (Red) On (Green) / Off (Red)

WHAT TO MONITOR

Channel Status: This is whether an ASIC low voltage is on or off

1) If you find the ASIC LV is off (when it is suppose to be on contact:

2) Click on the "Non-expert overview panel highlighted in red

This should bring up a panel that looks like:

3) Scroll to the affected channel and plot the following variables in the data browser (by right clicking on the variable and clicking on "data browser")
