Cathode High Voltage - Overview

The Cathode HV makes our drift field. The Glassman power supply provides a voltage and current readback to the Slo Controls box.
We obtain a more sensitive monitor of the current via an analog output located on the back of the power supply; this is input to a Keithley meter - the Keithly Current Monitor.
We also monitor the voltage near the end of the field cage resistor chain, at the "pick-off" point, which comes out on TPC signal feed-through 1. The pick-off voltage is input to a second Keithley meter.
The Slo Controls reads all these monitored items - the Glassman V and I, and the two Keithley meters - and displays their values on the High Voltage Monitoring Panel.
Further monitoring could be added in the future.

Please check alarms from the HV monitoring on the Slo Mon main control panel. If the voltage is lower than it should be by more than 1 kV, there's a problem.
