Beginner's guide to Ganglia metrics¶
To access the ganglia metrics you need to have an ssh tunnel from the computer you're working on (e.g. the control room machines or your laptop) to ws01. See RC Guide: Viewing the ganglia monitoring page and How to make ssh tunnels to ubdaq internal webservers for more instructions on how to do this. You will need to download the proxy file https://cdcvs.fnal.gov/redmine/attachments/24625/lartf.pac from the How to make ssh tunnels to ubdaq internal webservers page.
Once you have the ssh tunnel set up and working with your browser, go to http://ubdaq-prod-evb.fnal.gov:8080/gweb/.
To look at the ganglia metrics start by choosing a machine, for example ubdaq-prod-evb-priv, in the drop-down box that says “--Choose a Node”. See the New Expert's guide to diagnosing DAQ problems for a starting point on where to look in the ganglia metrics, or consult the list of ganglia metrics to find out what each one shows.
