Most GUIs have icons on the desktop of the appropriate machine to start them. If they need to be started on a different machine for some reason, follow these steps.

Do see what commands lie behind the desktop icon, do the following:

# Right-click the icon.  Select "Properties" from the pull-down menu that appears.

# Click the "Application" tab in the Properties GUI

# The Command field displays the command to be run.  If it doesn't fit within the window, you click on the field and use the left and right arrows on the keyboard to scroll.  In some cases, the command will be a script on the local control room machine, or an ssh to a DAQ machine.  You can investigate those with the linux "more" or "less" commands in case of need.

*NOTE:* The event display starts up with the far detector geometry.  Pushing the ">" button at the upper left corner of the event display window starts the program reading data.  The display sets up the correct geometry after reading the first event.
