How to Issue a Detector Sync

If the Rollover watcher is not running:

  • ssh
  • source DAQOperationsTools/nova_setup.sh
  • watchRollover.sh
This script displays the number of seconds since the last rollover.
Wait until the display stops warning not to issue a sync.

Issue a synch:

Use the TDU Control Interface to issue a Detector Sync
when the RolloverWatcher isn't warning you:

5 seconds since last rollover. 2 until next one.
Not safe to issue synch. Please wait.
66 seconds since last rollover. 1 until next one.
Not safe to issue synch. Please wait.
0 seconds since last rollover. 67 until next one.
Not safe to issue synch. Please wait.
1 seconds since last rollover. 66 until next one.
Not safe to issue synch. Please wait.
2 seconds since last rollover. 65 until next one.
Not safe to issue synch. Please wait.
3 seconds since last rollover. 64 until next one.
4 seconds since last rollover. 63 until next one.

Did it work?

You can see whether the synch plausibly worked in watchSync.sh command.

If it worked, the "dcm-usl tcks:" value at the very end of the line should be O(10000) for all DCMs. (Beware of numbers so big they
wrap around the screen!)
