EPEL Repo Setup on novatest01¶
Alec suggested that the EPEL YUM repository could be used as a source for Ganglia. I didn't find any epel*.repo files in /etc/yum.repos.d, so I approximately followed the directions on this page to add them. The actual steps that I used were the following:
- downloaded epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/repoview/epel-release.html
- as root on novatest01, ran rpm -Uvh <download_dir>/epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm
After doing that, yum list | grep -i ganglia showed that Ganglia 3.0.7 is now available for YUM installation. I'm not sure if this version of Ganglia is recent enough, so I'll check with people before actually installing it.
