Project Overview

NOvA will begin far detector data taking in the winter/spring of 2013. This provides an opportunity for NOvA to show first physics results in the spring and summer of 2013. This presents a very aggressive schedule that is required for data processing, Monte Carlo event generation and for physics analysis.

To meet the needs of this schedule, NOvA will need to improve their production infrastructure to be able to exploit both Fermigrid resources as well as other computing resources at collaborating institutions and on the Open Science Grid (OSG).

This project is aimed at addressing these changes to the NOvA computing model, infrastructure and production procedures. It is centered around a timeline that aims to deliver scalable data processing and Monte Carlo production by August 2013.
