The ROOT files contain the output of the simulation.
Particles are generated at the position (100,50,0)cm and beam is along the z axis.
Particles are electron with momentum 0.030GeV.
Simulated with LArSoft development version.
noise simulation is off.
zero suppression is on. (at the default 10-ADC threshold)
Tom Junk performed a charge study on these files at varying ADC zero suppression threshold, which is documented here.
Carolina confirmed Tom's estimate with an estimated resolution of 3.5% at the default 10-ADC zero suppression threshold. This is comparable to the log-plot in Tom's talk linked above. Both of these studies merely considered the (standard deviation / mean) of the distribution of total ADC charge sums per event. Some care had to be taken in removing event 1 from the sample, which had a charge sum orders of magnitude greater than any other event. No other outliers were removed in the fit. This "energy resolution" is a bottom line, as it assumes a single particle and no noise.
