Jobsub status

This command is used to query various attributes of the jobsub server. As of release 1.1.2, only --sites has been implemented.

$ jobsub_status
ERROR: Missing required arguments
Usage: jobsub_status [Client Options]

Options:
  --version             show program's version number and exit

  Client Options:
    -G <Group/Experiment/Subgroup>, --group=<Group/Experiment/Subgroup>
                        Group/Experiment/Subgroup for priorities and
                        accounting
    --jobsub-server=<JobSub Server>
                        Alternate location of JobSub server to use
    --debug             Print debug messages  including server contacted, http
                        response, response time
    --sites             query the server for sites that  'jobsub_submit
                        --SITE=' is configured to submit to
    -h, --help          Show this help message and exit

REQUIRED arguments are (--sites AND --group). Please direct questions,
comments, or problems to the service desk

To see which sites the 'nova' experiment can submit to from this server:

$ jobsub_status --group nova --sites

  • The values shown by the --sites command show our local configuration . It is possible that a given site has agreed to run jobs submitted from fermilab but has misconfigurations that cause fermilab jobs to fail. It is also possible that the site is so busy that fermilab jobs never start.
  • To see which sites are currently running fermilab VO jobs look at http://fifemon.fnal.gov/monitor/pool/fifebatchgpvmhead1
  • There may be other 'gotchas' for running your jobs at a particular site, or configuration changes may be planned. It's probably a good idea to ask your experiment CD liason about this.
