Point-R3

Guiding errors and settling are less than 0.1” RMS ??? for 100-second exposures, as determined by guider-camera residuals measured at > 1 Hz.

Prerequisites

SISPI operational with guiding enabled

Procedure

Take any kind of standard exposures with guiding enabled
The guiding software stamps out a small box around guide stars at 1 Hz during the observation
Sextractor is run on the star stamps to determine position deviations

Verdict

The RMS deviation of star positions on the guiding stamps is smaller than 0.1"

Consequences

Guiding errors contribute to the PSF, degrading data quality
