The cluster observations will make use of some main survey hexes/offsets, but only if there is enough cluster area covered. The overlap calculation assumes the FoV to be a circle of 1 degree radius and the cluster to ab a circle of 0.5 degree radius. Survey hexes/offsets are only considered if the overlap is at least 0.5 sq. deg. Giving the hex reference coordinates and the offset pattern, this defines the list of useful main survey pointings. This approach typically provides 5-7 main survey pointings, so I added the missing ones by hand such that all clusters have the full-depth 10 pointings. These "free" pointings all have full overlap with the cluster area and are indicated by "-" signs in the table below.

The CWG has indicated that MACS0329 is the most favorable target (due to it's redshift of 0.45; which is nice as it has 7 main survey hexes), but a lower-z cluster should also be in the list. In terms of re-usable hexes, A383 has 7 and A209 has 6. Both cluster are at redshifts around 0.2.

Public catalogs for the photometry of the CLASH clusters are here: [[http://archive.stsci.edu/prepds/clash/]]. Note that due to the dense environment, even the space-based photometry cannot provide arbitrarily accurate photometry because many galaxies are blended and plenty of ICL is present near the BCGs.
