Crate and rack needs for the paddle system (MRD + veto)

16 channels per card - Lecroy 4300 ADC
362 MRD channels = requires 23 cards
70 Additional paddles = 5 more cards
assuming 22 cards per crate CMAC - 2 crates (ADC)

32 channels per module - Lecroy 3377 tdc
362 MRD channels = requires 12 cards
70 additional channels = 3 cards
takes half a crate

2 crates can cover both the adc and tdc

16 channels per card - Lecroy 4413 discriminator
1-2 crates for the discriminator

What do they use for amplifiers/splitters!!!?????

2 “crates” for the delay patch panels
2 “crates” for the splitters
1.5 crates for the amplifiers
1 trig logic crate

VME

19 cards per VME crate
15 4-channel fADCs are needed for the 60 PMTs
1 4-channel fADC needed for external signals
3 clock distribution boards
1 CAEN V1495 board for triggering
1 VME CPU (crate controller) per crate.

Current baseline 2 Wiener crates. Each Wiener crate is 9U tall (may be 8U, depending on model)
Crate A: (9U)
  • 1 VME CPU
  • 2 clock distribution boards
  • 8 fADC cards
Crate B: (9U)
  • 1 VME CPU
  • 1 clock distribution board
  • 1 CAEN V1495
  • 8 fADC Cards

250 PMTs will require 63 fADC cards (3-4 crates)

Splitters.

Each 1U Splitter box can service 12 channels.

5-1U splitter boxes are needed for 60 PMTs.
