Adding User Accounts for ANNIE

The user will have created a new account, or be adding ANNIE membership via

This will create a Servicedesk TASK assigned to the ANNIE support group.

  1. Add the user to the ANNIE NIS
    To check
    ssh -akx annie01.fnal.gov "ls -ld ~${NEW}" 
    

    add_annie_user adds them to ANNIE NIS, mailing lists and the AFS group
    Get CS's ECF/SSI to do this if needed.
    ssh gpcf015.fnal.gov "source /usr/local/etc/setups.sh
    setup systools
    cmd add_annie_user ${NEW}" 
    ( add_annie_user is not enabled Apr 2015 )
    
  2. Add new user to ANNIE redmine page
    https://cdcvs.fnal.gov/redmine/projects/annie_experiment/settings/members
    Click Members
    New Member ( on right ), find the user, select Developer
    

    If the user does not show up in the New Member menu:
  3. Add /annie/app/users and /annie/ana/users and /pnfs/annie/scratch directories
    ssh -akx root@if-admin-annie.fnal.gov
    
    NEW=new username
    NUI=new UID
    ./adduser ${NEW} ${NUI}
    
    The adduser scripts contains
    
    ls -ld /annie/ana /annie/app /pnfs/annie/scratch  # tickle the automounter and check access
    
    for DIR in /annie/app /annie/ana /pnfs/annie/scratch ; do
        ND=${DIR}/users/${NEW}
        if [ ! -d "${ND}" ] ; then
            echo MAKING ${ND}
            mkdir               ${ND}
            chown ${NUI}.annie  ${ND}
        fi
        ls -ld             ${ND}
    done
    
  4. Close the Servicedesk TASK noting which actions were taken
