Proposed Measurement Program

Block 1 - stable running at 250 V/cm

Running Mode:

  • Triggered at 5 Hz

Dedicated Measurements:

  • APA gap studies, deflector voltage scan

Ongoing Measurements:

  • t0 from photon detectors
  • purity
  • Charge yield ("S" in S/N ratio)

Block 2 - Field scan - 250 to 500 V/cm in 50 V/cm steps - 8-16 hours running at each

Running Mode:

  • Triggered at 5 Hz

Ongoing Measurements:

  • PD light yield vs field
  • repeat t0 resolution from PD at each field
  • Charge yield vs field
  • Space charge?

Block 3 - Gobs of data from downward particles at 500 V/cm

Running mode:

  • Untriggered is best
  • Otherwise, Triggered-long event mode with highest event length possible

Ongoing Measurements:

  • Stopped muons
  • Charged hadron dE/dx
  • pi0s

Block 4 - High purity field scan 250 to 500 V/cm in 50 V/cm steps - 8-16 hours running at each

Ongoing Measurements:

  • repeat PD light yield studies
  • repeat space charge studies
  • diffusion (requires high purity)
