Description

From FIFE Workshop:

Group accounting is confusing in practice
  • lots of people submit using role=Production
  • But who actually submitted what job is lost (sometimes preserved in job name)

Comments: We had several discussions on this in past and its clear that this is not achievable unless users submit production jobs with their own credentials or from a non group account. To identify the actual user you need to know either the user id or the submitter use an independent credential. In case of production jobs from experiments, users submit using group accounts like novapro and use a common cert. This prevents jobsub client from uniquely identifying the submitter.

One option is to add a --submitter or some equivalent flag that user can set to their name and will be appended to the jobs classad. However the users will still not be able to see this in the output of the jobsub_q output.
