Description

Currently, if I put "fixes #id" or "closes #id" into a commit message, redmine will generate links to and from the issue, but it will not automatically update the issue's status. According to http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/RedmineSettings#Referencing-issues-in-commit-messages , there should be an option for this to happen.

Ideally, "fixes" should set the status to "Resolved" and "closes" set the status to "Closed", but I gather that may not be possible, or may only be possible in newer versions of redmine. If they both need to be mapped to the same status, I think "Resolved" is the more appropriate choice.

History

#1 Updated by Ben Loer about 5 years ago

Given that this functionality is advertised in the redmine 2.6.0 upgrade news post, please upgrade this to a bug report rather than feature request.

#2 Updated by Marc Mengel about 5 years ago

I set the flag in the admin to have it set status to "resolved" on messages that say {fixes, resolves} #issueid
and to "closed" on
closes #issueid

This is tested issue #7991, on the test-git repository, which closed itself on receipt
of the commit message.

So is this assigned? Is it fixed/closed? Mark seems to have tested it and it worked, yet I found this issue while scanning the open issues list.

#4 Updated by Marc Mengel over 4 years ago

  • Status changed from New to Closed
  • Assignee set to Marc Mengel

Sorry, never marked it closed.
