ifdh fetchInput doesn't print a blank line on failure

Description

if you get the output from fetchInput on failure, you tend to get a LOCK line..

It should always print the (possibly empty) response , even if the copy failed,
It should fail if the copy failed.

Arguably the LOCK output should go to stderr(?).
