Description

Hello glideinWMS team,

As you know I've been experimenting with installing the factory using rpms. I encountered a few issues with the factory specific condor configuration, but have provided some fixes. Please note they were derived from release v3_2_6.

I'll briefly explain them here.

glideinwms_factory_spec.patch:
1. use the 01_gwms_factory_collectors.config template provided in glideinwms/install/templates rather than the spec-modded 01_gwms_collectors.config
2. just use the 03_gwms_local.config template directly for factories, and don't bother renaming it to 03_gwms_factory_local.config. I notice there is actually a factory version in glideinwms/install/templates, but we never use it in production factories, and it doesn't seem to add anything useful. I recommend you just get rid of this file.
3. get rid of 11_gwms_factory_secondary_collectors.config. Factories don't use secondary collectors, it is only used for factory <-> frontend communication.

Finally factory_template_user.patch just changes the condor superuser to the correct name of the factory user, gfactory.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the patches, or would just like to discuss any of these issues in more detail.

Thanks!
Jeff

  • Target version changed from v3_2_7 to v3_2_8

#2 Updated by Parag Mhashilkar over 5 years ago

Already committed the changes to the glideinwms git repo in v3/7028. The spec file changes will be applied once 3.2.7 is pushed to testing in the OSG Jira. The patch applies cleanly and there should not be any problem with it.

Applied the patch to OSG svn repo. Changes will be released with next version of OSG rpm
