I have been in touch with Benedikt Hegner at CERN, who (it sounds like) was able to do most of what's needed. But he hasn't been in touch with me for about a month, despite prodding...

Finally heard back from Benedikt, and have started testing the recommended build machinery.

I got nearly everything to build, by hacking things a bit. Needs another day's work (or so) to do so tidily
