Description
For the LBNE 35-ton detector (which uses SLAC RCE hardware modules for reading out the data), the initial plan is to not run any artdaq code on the RCE. Custom network-transfer code will be written as part of the artdaq FragmentGenerator that is created to read out the TPC data from the RCE. However, a longer-term goal will be to port the BoardReader application (and whatever fraction of the dependent packages are needed) to the RCE platform.
The initial time estimate for this is just a guess...

At least for now, experiments are targeting PCIe-based FPGA readouts. If an experiment decides to use and embedded device and would like to run BoardReaders there in the future, we can always open a new issue.
