Description

Original request from the service now:

"Product" = intensity frontier jobsub/condor batch tools.

An LBNE user has requested a feature for running batch jobs on the grid -- a tool that lets a user view a file (or perhaps just the last portion of the file using tail) that is being written to by a running batch job in order to monitor progress of a job. Typically a user would like to know if a job is stuck in a loop or estimate how much more time is left before it finishes, and details in the logfile can provide this information.

CDF has a tool like this:

CafMon tail

is an example of something that does what we'd like.

Pushing this ticket out (again) to 1.3.2 . Discussion in todays jobsub developers meeting indicates that security has consistently denied our requests to allow this on FNAL resources. This is going to be asked again wrt non FNAL worker nodes and containers
