Description

We want to not use the SLF6 version of KDE.

Instead we want t move to gnome which will be supported till 2018 and can still use most of the KDE tools (kdialog etc...)

History

#1 Updated by Andrew Norman over 6 years ago

Used the yum groupinstall command to update parts of the window system.

To do this I did a:

yum grouplist

to get a list of the available groups. Then I did a:

yum groupinstall "Desktop Platform Development"

To install the headers and development libs.

The other groups that were needed were:

Desktop
Desktop Platform
General Purpose Desktop
KDE Desktop
Desktop Debugging and Performance Tools

I also installed the "TeX Support" group to get the right fonts to match LaTeX documents
