Description

Study differences between splines with different numbers of knots over the same energy region. What is an optimal trade-off of memory vs. precision? Currently using 500 knots logarithmically spaced from 0.01 to 200 GeV.

This effort was started some time ago, but has languished due to other priorities. Giving it a due date so that it gets reviewed in the future, changing the status and estimating 30% done-ness.

When NOvA & LArSoft changed (~2013-04-03) to GENIE R-2_8_0 splines were generated w/ 500 knots [0.01:400] GeV, with the extended range to allows these splines to be used for atmospheric neutrino event generation as well as NuMI beam.
