o Copied shrc login shells from minos-om
scp -r minos-om:shrc shrc

o Installed rms software per RMS wiki

cd ${HOME}
curl -o rms.tgz
tar xzvf rms.tgz
HOST=`hostname -f`
cd ~/opt/rms

mkdir config/${HOST}
cp config/ config/${HOST}/config
cp -r config/ config/${HOST}/rcgui
nano config/${HOST}/config

use the minos-om keytab file for these tests

mkdir ~/opt/krb5
chmod 700 ~/opt/krb5
scp minos-om:.krb5/minos-om.keytab ~/opt/krb5/minos-om.keytab

./rms kinit # works OK

Get the crontab from minos-rc, to keep the ticket alive

scp minos-rc:crontab.dat ~/crontab.dat

modified crontab to use the rms kinit
copied and configured the minos-rc keytab from minos-rc

25 * * * * /home/minos/opt/rms/rms kinit > /dev/null 2>&1
@reboot /home/minos/opt/rms/rms kinit > /dev/null 2>&1

Logged into KDE desktop this morning, set it as default.
Screens continue to go blank after 20 minutes.
This is not the screen saver ( disabled ).

#4 Updated by Arthur Kreymer almost 9 years ago

Screen blanking was resolved Fri 2011-03-16
with the help of FEF / Bonnie King

INC000000224631 - lenovo-demo screen blanking

Kreymer created .kde/Autostart/blank_off , mode 755,

xset -dpms
xset s off

And removed non-executable .kd3/Autostart/,
which kept popping up in an editor window on login.

The crontab entry running /home/minos/opt/rms kint was not effective.
This worked interactively.

kinit is not in the crontab path.
I hacked the local rms script to use /usr/kerberos/bin/kinit.
We should update the master tarfile and script.

I also created a function in .profile on lenovo-demo :
minos-kinit () { /home/minos/opt/rms/rms kinit ; }
