Description

HI,

We'd like to request new tags and builds of nutools, nugen, and nusim data. They should contain Jeremy Wolcott's recent commits which enable us to record generator information in the event record, as well as an upgrade of Genie to v3.0.6 as well as the associated reweighting code. We are currently on nutools v3_01_00, and this would be an upgrade in that series. I don't know the details of Jeremy's commits, but if it's not obvious we can ask him to provide more details.

Thanks,
-Alex

Just to note that we have now split out nug4 into a separate package, leaving just CRY and EventDisplayBase in nutools. The new nutools suite will reflect this. Jeremy's changes are already in the head of develop, but that is using art 3.02.06.

So that means his changes need to be merged back into our release branch, right? Is that something that you will do, or do we need to sort that out?

#3 Updated by Lynn Garren 2 months ago

We plan on making the changes and will contact appropriate people if there are any problems.

Not sure whether you were waiting for confirmation or not from us, but we think we won't be significantly affected by the <ioread> issues that LArSoft is having with 6.16. This can proceed.

Would you like the genie_xsec splines to be v3_00_04a or v3_00_06? The files are the same, just renamed to avoid confusion. You'll still be getting genie_phyopt v3_00_04, though.

Hi Lynn,

I believe Robert was going to make a custom genie_xsec package for us which includes splines for a customized tune of Genie. If that's not ready, I believe we can always change the spline product in our own code later one, so it's probably not such a critical choice. Maybe 3_00_06 is less confusing if we need to pick something now.

He didn't mention that. Are you already using the v3_00_04a splines? If so, we can avoid duplication.

#9 Updated by Alexander Himmel about 2 months ago

Yea, we're already using the v3_00_04a splines. That makes sense. Like I said, I think this isn't a critical choice.

Jeremy, I need a new feature branch from you for nusimdata v1_16_xx. It needs to be based on the v1_16_for_art_v2_13_br branch. I do not need new branches for either nutools or nugen.

#11 Updated by Jeremy Wolcott about 2 months ago

Ok, I'll do that ASAP.

All right-- feature/jwolcott_add_geninfo_v16-artv213 will hopefully do the trick.

Thanks Jeremy. Unfortunately it will be next week before I can make the releases. (I don't work Fridays.) I expect that the head of nugen will work just fine with the updated nusimdata, and the change needed in the CRY interface is easy to pick up.

In the meantime, I cut a quick release so you have something to play with.

The geant4 interfaces are now in nug4. Use the migration script: UseNuG4.sh in nutools v3_01_01.
