Frontend and Factory reload failing
Service reload is not working any more.
It is documentedin here:
Here when trying now:
# systemctl reload gwms-frontend Job for gwms-frontend.service invalid.

- Status changed from New to Resolved
After researching and a lot of testing, the problem only happens if you start the process directly (i.e. not calling systemctl) and then try to call reload with systemctl. An example of a faulty workflow would be:
[root@fermicloud364 ~]# /usr/sbin/gwms-frontend start Starting glideinWMS frontend fermicloud364: [ OK ] [root@fermicloud364 ~]# systemctl reload gwms-frontend Job for gwms-frontend.service invalid.
The problem doesn’t happen however if you start the process with systemctl. The following sequence should work:
[root@fermicloud364 ~]# systemctl start gwms-frontend [root@fermicloud364 ~]# systemctl reload gwms-frontend
Then, I can confirm `systemctl reload gwms-frontend` will work only if:
- gwms-frontend service is running
- gwms-frontend service was started with systemctl
After a discussion with Marco Mambelli, we have decided to add a small clarification about it in the OSG documentation. Pending the PR, but we can resolve the ticket
