Description

EGI will drop CREAM CE support by the end of 2020.
And HTCondor will drop CREAM CE support in the 8.9 development series. 8.8 will be the last production series supporting CREAM CE
GlideinWMS will have to do the same in accordance with Factories and HTCondor schedules

Here the email from Brian Bockelman with the announcement:

In case you missed it -- see below.

CREAM support is ending in December 2020.

HTCondor plans to drop support for CREAM in the current development release and hence it won't be available for the factory starting the next stable release.

I think we should be very supportive of HTCondor's plan.

Marco Mascheroni - didn't you work to query the factory for the sites that still have a CREAM CE? At what point should we contact them to ask about alternates?

Thanks,

Brian

Dear Users

The CREAM working group has announced that official support for the CREAM-CE component will cease at the end of the EOSC-hub project, i.e. in Dec 2020. To prepare for this, EGI Foundation and CERN are actively working to help to minimise disruption. This will include helping users migrate to alternative solutions, i.e. ARC-CE or HTCondor-CE.

The CREAM working group will be providing full support until the end of 2019, including one minor release already scheduled. During 2020 only security updates will be released.

If you have any concerns or queries, please open a support ticket at https://ggus.eu/

Best regards

EGI Foundation and CERN Operations Teams
