Description

This is a followup to an email discussion that I had with Lynn. I am seconding a request that started in LArSoft.

When a new distribution of art is made, if that distribution requires a new python, please make new ups products for numpy and scipy that will setup and work with the new version of python.

There may be related python packages that should also be in the list. You can check with the other stakeholders.

Both Mu2e and g-2 are happy if these ups products are added to the mu bundle.

python_tools v1_02_00 is available in the following builds. Note that all builds are prof. We see no advantage to making a debug build of any python tool.
  • e15 for SLF6 and SLF7
  • e17 for SLF6 and SLF7
  • c2 for SLF6, SLF7, Sierra, and High Sierra

The distribution contains:
  • lapack v3_8_0a
  • sqlite v3_20_01_00
  • python v2_7_14b
  • nose v1_3_7e
  • cython v0_28_2
  • pyyaml v3_12d
  • numpy v1_14_3
  • scipy v1_1_0

Note that lapack is also used by caffe. The latest build of caffe uses an older release of lapack. This is an issue for LArSoft and NOvA.
