High network causes "fatal DMA underflow"
I saw this in my
PXMC2 front-end (an MVME-2434 running VxWorks 5.4). I was trying to find an Industry Pack carrier in A16 space. I ran (in a
telnet session) the command:
to see chunks of memory. Parts of the dump get sent but then there's a pause. Before more of the memory contents are displayed, there is a pair of messages:
interrupt: dc0 - fatal DMA underflow (tNetTask): dc0 - restarting device.
The output is missing ranges of memory, which means restarting the ethernet interface lost some of the output. I should be able to emit text as fast as the network will take it.
Its boot parameters are:
boot device : dc0 processor number : 0 host name : fecode-bd file name : /vxworks_boot/kernel/mv2400/vxWorks inet on ethernet (e) : 22.214.171.124:ffffff00 inet on backplane (b): host inet (h) : 126.96.36.199 gateway inet (g) : 188.8.131.52 user (u) : vxworks_boot ftp password (pw) (blank = use rsh): flags (f) : 0x8 target name (tn) : pxmc2_0xA27 startup script (s) : vxworks_boot/fe/micoll/pxmc2.startup
