Special release for SBN workshop (SBND)
We have some alleged improvements on the optical simulation, that go into
larana, but they are not detector/experiment independent.
Therefore we request a special release which must not be merged back into
develop. After verifying that the changes are good, we'll have to devise a way to turn the experiment-specific features in generic ones, and at that time we'll ask for the integration of an improved version. But that's for the future.
Today, we would like a special LArSoft release (tagged either
v06_70_01_SBND, or with a revision version, e.g.
- the complete LArSoft suite from
- except the repositories
larana, which will be taken from the published branches
Please let us know how to proceed.
It took very long to us to "validate" the code, and the result is that we are in an incredible hurry, hence the ridiculously high priority.

- Status changed from New to Feedback
You are requesting a "hotfix" type release. These releases are made against existing release tags. So we have two choices: 1) tag this weeks' release and make the special release, or 2) tag against the existing v06_70_01 release. Unless we hear otherwise, we will tag against v06_70_01.

Starting work on larsoft v06_70_01_01.
I note that two "unit" tests fail if sbnd_data is not found. I suggest that either you make it required or you edit the appropriate CMakeLists.txt file such that these tests are run only if sbnd_data is available. The tests in question are prodsingle_reconstruction_test.sh and fast_simulation_reconstruction_test.sh. Both require a file found in $SBND_DATA_DIR/Response.
