Necessary Maintenance #19013: Implement tests for ensuring backwards compatibility
Get dCache space accessible through xrootd
Following request was submitted to the service desk:
We request 1 TB of persistent storage space for storing art/ROOT files to be used in our regular testing of the art framework, used by most of the current experiments hosted at Fermilab. We will use these files for testing backwards compatibility of new versions of art, to assure that new versions can read older format files. We do not require any tape-backed storage for this effort.
We want to use dCache space so that the files are accessible for reading using xrootd from wherever a developer is working (including developer laptops, and departmental machines at Fermilab). We will need for all of the developers of art to have access to read these files.
We will also want to mount the appropriate directory on our department server, woof.fnal.gov, so that we can add files to the directory as needed.
We don't know the correct Virtual Organization to specify for this effort. If it is appropriate to do so, we could request a VO for the art project. If there is already a VO that is appropriate for this, please let us know.
