Description

It appears that the NOvASocketInputDriver is not associating the RunPrincipal to the Run object properly leading to the following exception getting thrown:

%MSG-s ArtException: PostCloseFile 31-Aug-2011 16:05:09 CDT PostEndRun
cet::exception caught in art
---- EventProcessorFailure BEGIN
An exception occurred during current event processing
---- NullPointerError BEGIN
Tried to obtain a NULL run.
---- NullPointerError END
cet::exception caught in EventProcessor and rethrown
---- EventProcessorFailure END

When attempting to access the RunPrincipal. This behavior is seen when running the following job:

/nova/app/users/brebel/artnova/test/job/evd1.fcl

Note that to test this the NOvA dispatcher must be running, Gennadiy can help with that.

This issue has been identified as a deficiency in ReaderSource and fixed for release in 0.07.15. Quite why this problem did not also manifest with file-based raw data input is currently unclear, but an ART test now exists to detect future regressions.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
