Description

Switching to a new output file after an open file reaches a certain "age" is a non-trivial problem. With art:version:"Arcturus", the ability to conditionally switch to new output files has been added. However, this particular feature will not be included with the feature release. A separate issue is being created so that this request is not lost.

It was agreed that this feature could be straightforwardly implemented as long as we did not need to consider the situation where (e.g.) the art process has been paused, and a maximum file-age has been reached during that pause. For the moment, it is sufficient to check the file age within the context of RootOutputFile, irrespective of any pausing.

Implemented with commit art:45a31e32, and targeted again for art:version:"Arcturus".
