Description

I tested the installation of Frontend and Factory on SL7

The default image on fermicloud has SELinux enabled. Fermilab will require SELinux enabled for production level machines.

Our HTCondor setup displayed many problems with SELinux enabled.
The condor team is looking into making condor more SELinux friendly.

Attempts to fix the problem were not successful.

I decided to postpone SELinux and set it to "permissive" to continue the test. This logs the issues but is not stopping the programs.

Other problems:
1- gwms-logcat.sh is looking for the tools in the wrong directory (python2.7 instead of 2.6 or 2.4)
2- SL7 has Apache httpd 2.4 which requires different configuration. It is unable to serve the files in the stage area

History

#1 Updated by Marco Mambelli over 4 years ago

Changes are in v3/11967:
1- fixed gwms-logcat.sh to look in system directory (OK w/python2.7, 2.6, 2.4)
2- Changed Apache httpd config to be compatible w/ 2.4 (changes are both in OSG svn updated and git added)

NOTE that httpd configuration currently is using the OSG svn version

Please make the required changes to the OSG SVN version and merge this feature branch when done.

  • Status changed from Feedback to Resolved

Changes done on OSG SVN (trunk/3.3 and upcoming, no need in 3.2 not supporting SL7).
v3/11967 merged to both master and branch_v3_2_jenkins
Again , a more complete test may reveal more parts to fix but after these changes I was able to install and run a smoke test.
