We need a reference Ubuntu machine that can be used for Ubuntu. The first step should be to specify the requirements for this machine. Presumably, the hardware and OS need to be supported at a level similar to that of SLF machines at Fermilab. The requirements can spell that out.

Some other questions that need to be answered in the requirements:
o Does the machine need to be hosted by Fermilab? Does it need to reside at Fermilab?
o Does it need to be a Jenkins slave?

This machine will not be at Fermilab due to Fermilab not willing to support ubuntu.
BNL has agreed to provide a Ubuntu 16 node.
Waiting for integrating a version of art that supports Ubuntu 16, that version is 2.06

art version 2.06 has been integrated into LArSoft.

I spoke to Brett Viren at the DUNE Collaboration Meeting about moving forward with setting up an Ubuntu slave node at BNL. He said that doing this was "on his list", but that he did not expect to get to it in the next few weeks.

We should check in with him some time in the next two to four weeks to see where this stands.

This never materialized. We use local vagrant VMs.
